Arizona's Sleeping Giant

Arizona has been tip-toeing around a sleeping giant. If it wakes up in 2009 as scheduled it will demand payment, literally.

Commentary
November 5, 2007-- In 2006, Arizona suspended the State Assistance Property Tax, saving individuals and businesses over $200 million annually. It is scheduled to return in 2009, which means that instead of saving $200 million, property owners will pay $200 million. That equals the largest tax hike in state history.
